The number of human trafficking cases has increased
On December 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, in cooperation with the country's embassy in Malaysia and the honorary consulate in Thailand, carried out the evacuation of a Kyrgyz citizen from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to preliminary data, the woman fell victim to scammers who promised her a high salary for work. As a result, she ended up being illegally held in a military camp in Myanmar.
Throughout 2025, 12 citizens of Kyrgyzstan returned home from Myanmar.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the country's law enforcement agencies are actively working to close channels of illegal migration and fraudulent schemes. The department also urged Kyrgyz citizens to be cautious when engaging in labor migration and when using unofficial employment sources.
