The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has announced the completion of an operation to evacuate a citizen of the country from Myanmar, which took place on December 10. The evacuation was carried out in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia and the Consulate in Thailand, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to preliminary data, the woman fell victim to traffickers related to labor migration and was illegally held in a military camp in Myanmar after being lured by promises of high-paying jobs.
Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs successfully organized the return of 12 citizens of Kyrgyzstan from Myanmar. As a result of the evacuation, the country's law enforcement agencies have begun active measures to close channels of illegal migration and combat fraudulent schemes.

In light of the increasing cases of Kyrgyz citizens being involved in human trafficking schemes in Southeast Asian countries, the ministry once again urges compatriots to exercise caution when considering job offers abroad, especially if they come through unofficial channels.
If citizens have any doubts or questions, they are strongly advised to contact the diplomatic representations and consular offices of Kyrgyzstan.
