The goal of the month is to draw public attention to the issues of protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as to create conditions for their full participation in the life of the country and to promote inclusive initiatives.
In accordance with the government decree, state bodies and local authorities are required to ensure equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of their physical abilities.
"This month is not just a set of events, but an important step towards creating an inclusive society where every person will feel needed and protected," the official statement notes.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992 to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in all areas of life and to raise awareness of existing issues.
