In recent days, unauthorized protest actions have been observed in several cities in Iran, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
As of January 6, 2026, according to official information from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, no Kyrgyz citizens have been reported among the protesters who suffered as a result of the unrest.
Considering the current situation, the Ministry urges Kyrgyz citizens to temporarily avoid traveling to Iran unless the trip is urgent or necessary.
Those who are already in Iran are advised to:
- be especially attentive and cautious;
- avoid places with large gatherings of people, rallies, and protests;
- follow the instructions of local authorities and law enforcement agencies;
- always carry identification documents and contact information for the Kyrgyz Embassy;
- closely monitor official statements from local authorities and diplomatic missions.
The Ministry continues to monitor the situation and will provide relevant information to Kyrgyz citizens as needed.
