The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about new requirements introduced by Georgia for the entry of foreign tourists.

Starting from January 1, 2026, all foreigners planning to travel to Georgia must have a valid health insurance policy and accident insurance that will be effective throughout their stay in the country.

These measures are taken in accordance with Georgian legislation in the field of tourism and apply to travel for various purposes: tourism, business, and private.

The policy can be issued by both Georgian and international insurance companies. The document must be presented in paper or electronic form in English or Georgian.

The amount of insurance coverage must be at least 30,000 Georgian Lari (GEL), and the policy must contain the following mandatory information:

- parties to the contract;

- territory of the policy's validity;

- subject of insurance;

- start and end dates of validity;

- risks covered by the insurance;

- amount of compensation;

- size of the insurance premium;

- payment conditions.

In this regard, the Ministry strongly recommends that citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic planning trips to Georgia familiarize themselves with the new rules in advance. It is also important to consider possible additional requirements that may be imposed by transport companies and border guards, and to arrange for health insurance ahead of time. It is advisable to have the documents in paper form, as they may be required during border control.

The Ministry also reminds of the importance of complying with migration legislation. It is necessary to have a valid foreign passport, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation booking.

It should be noted that this information is explanatory and does not guarantee automatic entry into Georgia.
