Recently, Russia changed the rules regarding mandatory health insurance for labor migrants.

The State Duma approved the bill in its third reading, which tightens the requirements for obtaining compulsory health insurance policies, with the exception of cases related to highly qualified specialists.

According to the new regulations concerning the Law on Mandatory Health Insurance, the period during which migrants must work in the country to access free medical care is increased from three to five years.

The initiative was presented by the government for discussion in September.
