In connection with the increase in cases of colds and viral diseases during the autumn-winter period, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund of Kyrgyzstan urges citizens to pay special attention to their health.
FOMS specialists advise against self-medication at the first signs of illness and recommend timely consultation with a doctor at the Centers for General Medical Practice (CGMP) or Family Medicine Centers (FMC). Medical assistance provided under the State Guarantees Program (SGP) is free of charge, regardless of insurance status.
Among the free services are disease prevention, medical consultations, basic laboratory tests, diagnostics, emergency care, treatment prescriptions, and, if necessary, referrals for hospitalization. Patients can also receive up to 12 types of laboratory-diagnostic tests and medical injections without providing medications and products.
Insured citizens can expect a wider range of free services, including up to 42 types of laboratory tests, ultrasound, and X-rays at a 50% discount, as well as day hospital services and subsidized medications under the Additional Health Insurance Program.
To receive medical assistance, one must be registered with a family doctor at the FMC or CGMP in their place of residence and have a referral from the treating physician.
