What services are available to patients without a mandatory health insurance policy?
Citizens can take advantage of the following services:
- consultation and treatment by a family doctor;
- conducting basic laboratory tests (up to 12 types) — only by doctor's referral;
- administration of injections in the procedure room (intramuscularly or intravenously) — also by doctor's referral.
What can citizens with a mandatory health insurance policy receive?
Having a policy allows access to a wider range of services:
- an expanded list of laboratory and diagnostic tests — up to 42 types;
- a 50% discount on X-rays and ultrasound examinations;
- day hospital services (without providing medications, systems, and syringes);
- purchase of discounted medications via electronic prescriptions with discounts of up to 50% at pharmacies working with the MHIF.
For citizens without a policy, the cost of ultrasound examinations and X-rays is 100% of the established price.
The Fund emphasizes that medical workers are obliged to provide assistance and have no right to refuse. However, it is important to register with a family doctor for timely medical care.
