With the increase in the number of citizens seeking X-rays in medical institutions, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) clarifies how payments are made depending on the patient's status and the presence of a referral.

In the case of visits to Family Medicine Centers (FMC) or General Practice Centers (GPC), the following rules apply:

If there is a referral from a family doctor, 50% of the procedure cost is covered for:


If a patient comes without a referral, full payment (100%) is required from the following categories:

As for patients undergoing inpatient treatment:

X-rays in the hospital are provided free of charge for the following groups:


The MHIF emphasizes that having a referral is a mandatory condition for receiving the service at a reduced cost in FMC and GPC.
