Myth No. 1: Purchases are made at inflated prices.
Reality: All procurement processes are regulated by legislation and undergo mandatory market monitoring. "Kyrgyzpharmacia" analyzes prices from at least three suppliers and compares them with previous purchases, market prices in the EAEU, and recommendations from the World Health Organization. Purchases are not made without a price analysis.
Myth No. 2: Government purchases are made from unknown suppliers.
Reality: The procurement of medications is carried out only from registered companies that have the right to supply in Kyrgyzstan. Each year, the share of contracts concluded directly with manufacturers increases.
Myth No. 3: What is purchased is not what is truly needed.
Reality: The formation of the list of medications is not carried out by "Kyrgyzpharmacia," but by medical institutions that submit their requests. The lists are then approved by the Ministry of Health and the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund. Thus, the state enterprise only purchases those medications that have been officially approved.
Myth No. 4: The procurement processes are not transparent and are handled manually.
Reality: Starting in 2024, a digital platform Kyrgyzpharm.med.kg will be implemented, allowing for tracking all stages of the process:
- submission of applications;
- approval;
- procurement;
- delivery;
- warehouse accounting.
Each batch of medications will be under control, and all stages will be documented.
Myth No. 5: "Kyrgyzpharmacia" acts only as an intermediary.
Reality: "Kyrgyzpharmacia" plays a key role in the national system of providing medications.
The state enterprise:
- controls centralized supplies;
- implements international quality standards (GDP);
- develops logistics and digital processes.
It should be noted that "Kyrgyzpharmacia" has faced criticism for the shortage of certain medications and delays in deliveries in the past.
