
On January 22, the nominees for the 98th Academy Awards were announced in Hollywood. This year, the Academy will present awards in 24 different categories.
In all categories, except for the main one — "Best Picture," there will be five nominees. The "Best Picture" category traditionally features ten films.
The awards ceremony will take place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live in over 200 countries.
The contenders for Best Picture include:

- "F1" — directed by Joseph Kosinski
- "Frankenstein" — directed by Guillermo del Toro
- "Hamnet" — directed by Chloé Zhao
- "Marty Supreme" — directed by Josh Safdie
- "One Battle After Another" — directed by Paul Thomas Anderson
- "The Secret Agent" — directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho
- "Sentimental Value" — directed by Joachim Trier
- "Sinners" — directed by Ryan Coogler
- "Train Dreams" — directed by Clint Bentley.
