In its recent statement, Amazon, one of the world's leading online retailers, announced its intention to cut about 16,000 jobs. This decision follows layoffs that began earlier in October.

“We continue to optimize our structure, and in the process of these reductions, we will support everyone affected by these changes,” the company noted in its message.

Last October, Reuters reported that Amazon planned to conduct the largest round of layoffs in the past three years, affecting up to 30,000 employees in corporate services.

After that, the announcement was made about the reduction of 14,000 jobs. In January, Reuters also reported on preparations for a second round of layoffs, which would affect a similar number of employees.

Founded in July 1995, Amazon operates actively not only in the United States but also in Canada, China, Brazil, Japan, and several European countries.
