Iran has confirmed information about conducting attacks on a number of facilities located in the Persian Gulf. Among the targets were important military bases, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, as well as Al Dhafra in the United Arab Emirates and the U.S. Fifth Fleet base located in Bahrain, as reported by the agency "Kazinform" citing Fars.
The Ministry of Defense of Qatar reported that their air defense systems successfully prevented several attacks on the country, stating that all launched missiles were intercepted before reaching their targets. However, shortly after this, AFP reported loud explosions in Doha, which may indicate unsuccessful interception attempts.
As a result of these events, the authorities of Qatar closed their airspace, and Qatar Airways suspended all flights. New explosions were also recorded in Manama, Bahrain, as a result of missile strikes in the area with American military facilities. Local authorities described these attacks as "treacherous" and stated that they violated the sovereignty and posed a threat to the country's security.
Additionally, loud bangs and explosions were reported in Riyadh, also related to Iranian strikes on facilities housing American forces. Strikes on the UAE resulted in casualties, as officially reported by the Ministry of Defense.
The Jordanian military confirmed the interception of two ballistic missiles over their territory. Earlier, Arab media reported explosions in Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, claiming that Iran is responding to the joint actions of the U.S. and Israel against the Islamic Republic.
