The authorities of Thailand have decided to introduce temporary support measures for foreign tourists, reports Kazinform.
According to the provided data, hotels across the country have begun offering reduced accommodation prices. Tourists can also expect financial assistance of 2000 baht (approximately 55 US dollars) per day. The maximum amount of payments for one foreign citizen is 20,000 baht, which is equivalent to about 550 dollars.
The Thai Immigration Service has stated that foreigners who were unable to leave the country due to the closure of airspace have the opportunity to extend their visas for up to 30 days. To do this, it is necessary to submit the appropriate application at any of the immigration offices. These support measures will remain in effect until the situation stabilizes.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, due to the worsening situation in the Middle East, many flights have been canceled, including those operated through Dubai. Some airlines have also reduced the frequency of their flights. Temporary restrictions have been imposed at four airports in the country.
