According to the case materials, the defendant admitted his guilt in connection with the terrorist act, during which Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, who headed the troops for radiation, chemical, and biological protection, was killed.

In addition, the court imposed a fine of 1 million rubles.

Other participants in this case were also sentenced to terms of up to 25 years in prison. Thus, Azerbaijani native Robert Safaryan, who delivered the explosives, received 25 years in a strict regime, the first nine of which he will spend in prison. Ingushes Batuhan Tochiev and Ramazan Padiyev, who provided housing for the executor, received sentences of 22 and 18 years respectively, with mandatory serving of the first eight and six years in prison, as well as a fine of 200,000 rubles.

The investigation established that Kurbonov, who had a poor command of the Russian language, first traveled from Tashkent to Baku, then to Astana, and finally to Moscow. In the capital, he withdrew another 431,000 rubles through a crypto ATM. The total amount spent on preparing the terrorist act was about 842,000 rubles, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia.

It is worth recalling that on December 17, 2024, an explosive device went off in Moscow on Ryazansky Avenue, installed in a scooter left at the entrance of a residential building. As a result of the explosion, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his driver were killed.
