
They will spend part of their sentence in correctional facilities
The sentence for those accused of attempting to assassinate former lieutenant colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Prozorov was handed down by the Second Western District Military Court. Vladimir Golovchenko received 26 years in prison, while Ivan Paskary was sentenced to 24 years. A significant portion of their punishment will be served in prison, with the remainder in a strict regime colony, as reported by "RIA Novosti."
The judge stated: "Paskary must serve 24 years in imprisonment, of which the first five years will be in prison, and the remainder in a strict regime colony, and he has also been fined 700,000 rubles. Golovchenko, in turn, has been sentenced to 26 years, the first six of which he will spend in prison <...>, and he has also been fined 1.4 million rubles" (quote from TASS).
Previously, another defendant in the case, Ukrainian Rostislav Zhuravlev, was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
The explosion that injured Prozorov occurred on April 12, 2024, when his Toyota Land Cruiser SUV exploded in the courtyard of his home on Korovinsky Highway in Moscow. The explosive device detonated as he got into the car and started the engine.
Prozorov reported that he worked in the SBU from 1999 to 2018, and since 2014, he began cooperating with Russian special services.
