As a result of the work of the State Committee for National Security, cases of systemic corruption were identified at the 'Dostuk-automobile' checkpoint.
According to the committee, on February 2, 2026, during the fight against corrupt actions, the head of the 'Dostuk-automobile' checkpoint of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Osh region, A.N.O., was detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center.
The investigation established that this official regularly received bribes through intermediaries for facilitating the passage of foreign citizens across the border of the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, he created artificial queues at the checkpoint and provided support to individuals engaged in criminal activities at the border.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to identify other employees involved in this crime. Work is also underway to improve conditions for citizens crossing the state border.
