During a counter-terrorism operation, the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with international partners, discovered and halted the activities of a teenager who was interested in the possibility of preparing an armed attack on the teachers and students of one of the schools in the capital.
Special services noted that a criminal case has already been initiated regarding this incident under Article 252, Part 1 (Threat of committing a terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.
In light of the growing cases of religious radicalization among youth, the State National Security Committee urges parents and educators to conduct regular conversations with children, as well as to carefully monitor their interests and hobbies in the accessible information space.
