A suspect in a robbery has been detained in the Chuy region, as reported by the regional police department.
On the night of February 20, 2026, at around 01:00, an elderly woman born in 1954, named S.N., contacted the police in the Jayil district. She reported that an unknown man of Slavic appearance had broken into her house in Kara-Balta, threatened her, demanded money, and inflicted physical injuries on her. After that, the perpetrator took money from her bag and fled the scene.
Based on this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 207 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Police officers were able to identify the suspect — a citizen named N.A., born in 1994. He was detained in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Necessary examinations have been appointed within the framework of the criminal case, and the investigation is ongoing.
