The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of constitutional legislation, state structure, and local self-government, reviewed a draft law concerning amendments to the legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities during its meeting. This project was discussed in the second reading.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev was the initiator of this draft law.
According to him, the amendments aim to expedite the process of considering appeals from persons with disabilities.
Kurmanqul Zulushiev, the committee chairman, reported that the project was returned for repeated consideration in the second reading. The goal of developing this draft law is to formalize the work of the Council and strengthen its role in protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
The draft law proposes to establish a legal framework for the Council's work, which will allow it to participate in legislative activities related to the preparation of regulatory legal acts concerning the rights of persons with disabilities.
As a result of the discussion, it was decided to change the title of the draft law from "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts Regarding the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities" to "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On Regulatory Legal Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic.'"
In the end, the committee approved the draft law in the second reading.
