The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, responsible for constitutional legislation, completed the review of the draft law "On Amendments to the Constitutional Law 'On Elections of the President and Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh'" in its third reading on January 13.
The initiator of this draft law was Deputy Dastan Bekeshev. His proposal includes the possibility for teenagers to participate in the electoral campaigns of candidates, although this participation should not be related to campaigning activities.

The amendments include several key points:
- Individuals under 18 years of age are not allowed to participate in campaigning or distribute campaign materials. However, with the written consent of parents or legal representatives, youth aged 16 to 18 will be able to work within the electoral campaign framework, without engaging in campaigning.
- Candidates will have the right to use photographs and video recordings taken at any age in their campaign materials.

- Additionally, candidates will not be held responsible for the presence of individuals under 18 at pre-election meetings and gatherings.

It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers expressed a negative opinion regarding this draft law.
