The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of the judicial system, law enforcement, combating crime and corruption, approved the president's objections to the draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic" on January 13.

The proposed amendments concern the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code.
Timur Shabdanbekov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), stated that the agency has its own proposals for the draft law, which remain relevant.

Malik Bekturganov, Deputy Prosecutor General, highlighted that there were certain objections raised regarding Article 5 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which pertains to the concept of "applicant" and related amendments.
He clarified: "In particular, Article 148 of the Criminal Procedure Code states that applications must be submitted to the Unified Register of Crimes. However, it also indicates that if the application does not meet the established requirements, a criminal case may not be initiated."

Erkebek Ashirkhodzhaev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, emphasized that such provisions violate the principles of comprehensive and thorough investigation.
