Russia has rejected requests for the return of 144 citizens of Kyrgyzstan who are serving sentences in the country's prisons. Deputy Attorney General Ümütkan Konkubaeva shared this information during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues related to the judicial system, law enforcement, combating crime, and countering corruption.

Deputy Ulukbek Uzakbaev raised the question of whether the presence of a permanent representation of the General Prosecutor's Office in Russia could expedite the processing of requests, as they currently arrive exclusively in written form. He also inquired whether there had been cases where translations were denied.

Konkubaeva confirmed that such refusals had indeed occurred. Of the 449 requests submitted, 144 were rejected as they did not meet the conditions of the agreement or concerned serious crimes, including murders and other serious offenses.

Uzakbaev emphasized that the representation could effectively address issues on the ground. In response, Konkubaeva noted that this issue had already been discussed, and the only unresolved problem remains the issue of salary payments.
