At a recent meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova raised the issue of the need to restore maternity and observation beds in some remote areas of Kyrgyzstan that had previously been closed due to a lack of funding.

She noted that this problem is particularly acute in remote settlements. As an example, she cited the tragic case in the village of Alaykuu, where a woman trying to reach the district hospital was involved in a traffic accident and, unfortunately, died along with her child. "It is important to restore beds in remote villages," Baatyrova stated.

Additionally, the deputy proposed organizing reference laboratories in the regions.

Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov reported that work is currently underway to improve conditions for motherhood, and the new Minister of Health has already been given the relevant instructions. He emphasized that the implementation of perinatal screening is being carried out as part of the national program "Umut," which should positively impact the situation. Baisalov also added that the case from the village of Alaykuu will be reviewed further.

Furthermore, he noted that the issue of creating reference laboratories is also under study.
