According to Kalpaev, until 2010, gas was supplied to the Batken region from Uzbekistan, but then the supplies ceased.
“The infrastructure remains in place, the pipes are in good condition. Signing a new agreement with Uzbekistan will not require additional costs; it is important to utilize the current friendly ties,” the deputy believes.
The head of the cabinet of ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, noted that he personally familiarized himself with the gas infrastructure of the region. “I will contact my Uzbek colleague on this matter,” he added.
