At the meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh on December 23, he noted that the consolidated budget of the country amounts to over 1 trillion soms, which is a significant sum. However, in his opinion, there is an opportunity to increase revenues by billions.
He provided an example: "In 2020, the price of an ounce of gold was $1,500, and now it reaches $4,450. Prices are rising while the rates remain the same. I think it’s time for changes."
In response, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev stated that enterprises are already paying taxes at maximum rates.
However, Jumabekov countered that "in 2022, when we made amendments to the Tax Code, no one could have predicted that prices would rise to such levels."
The head of the cabinet agreed that this issue would be brought up for discussion with the State Tax Service.
