In an interview with state media, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev commented on the likelihood of overheating the economy against the backdrop of a noticeable increase in the state budget.

He reminded that last year the government set a goal to achieve a consolidated budget of 1 trillion soms by 2027.

Kasymaliev noted: "We have made a lot of efforts, and recently I signed a draft law on amendments to the budget for 2025, which has already been sent to the Jogorku Kenesh. The planned budget amounts to 1 trillion 93.1 billion soms."

The head of the cabinet emphasized that "a sharp increase in the budget can create certain risks. When funds in the budget increase, they enter the market, and this can lead to overheating of the economy. However, we are constantly working on this issue. We are directing these funds not towards the purchase of consumer goods, but towards the development of the real sector and the construction of infrastructure projects. The Ministry of Finance and the National Bank are working together to ensure that monetary policy remains stable and inflation does not rise. One of the approaches is a gradual increase in the discount rate from 9% to 11%. We always maintain a dialogue with the National Bank to avoid a sharp influx of cash. This issue is under our control. Our main task is to direct available funds towards development so that they contribute in the future," added Kasymaliev.
