From Social Budget to Development Budget. The Head of the Cabinet Discussed Achievements

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has set an ambitious goal — to achieve a consolidated budget of 1 trillion soms by 2027. In a recent interview with television channels, the head of the government, Adylbek Kasymaliev, reported that a proposal to amend the budget for the current year, which will amount to 1 trillion 93.1 billion soms, has been submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to Kasymaliev, the revenues of the republican budget have increased from 430 billion soms to 605.5 billion. The total budget resources have also grown from 586 billion soms to 939 billion.

Previously, Kyrgyzstan's budget was primarily socially oriented, with almost half of the funds used for social needs. Now, as the head of the Cabinet noted, the budget has become development-oriented: about 35-36 percent of the funds are allocated to the real sector, 23 percent to social needs, over 20 percent to salaries, and 6 percent to capital expenditures.
