Kyrgyzstan Concluded 2024 with a Record Budget Surplus

In the completed year of 2024, the consolidated budget of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 689.3 billion soms, which is 112.1 billion soms more than in 2023. By the end of the year, the republic recorded a surplus of 34.3 billion soms, indicating financial stability and effective budgetary policy of the state. This was reported by the Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev at an expanded meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh.

He specified that the revenues of the republican budget reached 417.5 billion soms. The main sources of income were tax revenues, which amounted to 192.6 billion soms, exceeding the 2023 level by 38 billion soms.

"The customs service collected 123.1 billion soms, increasing collections by 11.6 billion soms. Total budget expenditures amounted to 383.2 billion soms, with an emphasis on the social sector," noted the head of the cabinet.

Kasymaliev also added that in 2024, 175.3 billion soms were allocated for social needs, which became a priority area of government spending. The distribution of funds occurred as follows:

- for education — 70.5 billion soms;

- for healthcare — 34.9 billion soms;

- for social protection — 61.1 billion soms;

- for culture and sports — 8.8 billion soms.
