The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on constitutional legislation and state structure today discussed and approved in the first reading a draft law titled "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic," taking into account the opinions of the deputies.
The initiator of this draft law was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. Deputy Minister of Justice Kuban Kazakov reported that the draft law proposes to reduce the existing 46 types of awards to 20. In particular, it is planned to exclude from the system of awards and honorary titles of the Kyrgyz Republic the orders "Danaker," "Erdik" of three degrees, the title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic," the Honorary Diploma of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the second category titles "Honored." It is envisaged that the establishment of the Honorary Diploma and the title "Honored" will be delegated to the Cabinet of Ministers.
