
The state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic are the highest form of encouragement for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and recognition of their contributions to the protection and strengthening of the state, democratic society, unity of the people, enhancement of the economic, intellectual, and spiritual potential of the country, as well as merits in public, humanitarian, charitable, and other types of activities before the state and the people.
The Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On State Awards of the Kyrgyz Republic" was adopted by the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on June 26, 1996, and approved by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on July 10, 1996.
The state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic include: the highest distinction of the Kyrgyz Republic "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry", orders, medals, honorary titles, and the Honorary Certificate of the Kyrgyz Republic. The names of state awards are established in the state language. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic issues decrees on awarding and presents state awards. Presidential decrees are published in the mass media. For comprehensive and objective consideration of nominations for state awards, as well as for conducting their public evaluation, the President forms a Commission on State Awards under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. Samples of insignia, order books, and certificates for state awards, as well as the procedure for their nomination, presentation, wearing, accounting, and storage are established in the Regulation "On State Awards of the Kyrgyz Republic". Foreign citizens and stateless persons who have merits before the Kyrgyz Republic can also be awarded state awards.
Individuals awarded state awards enjoy benefits and advantages in the manner and cases provided for by the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The status, rights, and benefits for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who were previously awarded orders and medals of the USSR and the Kirghiz SSR have been preserved, and the identification of the honorary titles "Hero of the Soviet Union" and "Hero of Socialist Labor" with the highest distinctions of the Kyrgyz Republic has been renewed.

The highest distinction - "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry". The highest distinction of the Kyrgyz Republic "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry" is awarded by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic once to citizens for exceptional personal merits before the state and the people, for performing a heroic feat in the name of freedom and independence of the Kyrgyz Republic. The individual awarded the highest distinction "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry" is presented with a special insignia "Ak Shumkar". The special insignia "Ak Shumkar" is worn on the left side of the chest above the orders and medals of the Kyrgyz Republic. The first awards were given to: Tugelbay Sydykbekov (writer), Chyngyz Torokulovich Aitmatov (writer), Turgunbay Sadykov (sculptor), Salizhan Sharipov (cosmonaut), Turdakun Usubaliev (statesman), Sabira Kumushalieva (actress).



Order "Manas". The Order "Manas" is awarded to citizens for outstanding contributions to the protection and strengthening of the state and democratic society, unity of the people, and enhancement of the economic, spiritual, and intellectual potential of the country. The Order "Manas" has 3 degrees, with awards starting from the III degree. In exceptional cases, the President may award citizens with the I degree. The order is worn on the left side of the chest in front of other orders and medals of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Order "Danaker". Citizens are awarded for significant contributions to strengthening peace, friendship, and cooperation between peoples; for particularly fruitful work in preserving interethnic harmony, bringing together and enriching national cultures, and merits in the development of science. It is worn on the left side of the chest after the Order "Manas".

Order "Baatyr Ene". The Order "Baatyr Ene" is awarded to mothers who have given birth to and fully raised 10 or more children; mothers whose children have been awarded the highest distinction "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry". The order is worn on the left side of the chest in front of the medals of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Medal "Erdik". Citizens are awarded for selfless acts, courage, and bravery shown in saving people, maintaining public order, fighting crime, during natural disasters, fires, catastrophes, and other emergencies, as well as for bold and decisive actions taken while fulfilling military, official, and civic duties under life-threatening conditions. It is worn on the left side of the chest after the orders of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Medal "Dank". Citizens are awarded for special achievements in public service, production, scientific and technical, creative, educational, social, and charitable activities. It is worn on the left side of the chest after the Medal "Erdik".

Medal "Kuzhurmon hizmet otogondugu uchun". Awarded to military personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Guard, military personnel, and certified employees of the National Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, ministries of internal affairs, ecology, and emergency situations, the state security service, military prosecutor's office, and military courts for conscientious performance of official duties, excellent performance in combat and political training. It has 2 degrees: I degree — for awarding for 20 or more years of impeccable military service, II degree — for awarding for 15 or more years of impeccable military service. It is worn on the left side of the chest after the Medal "Dank".

Medal "Ene danky". Awarded to: mothers who have given birth to and raised 9 children; women who have worked impeccably for more than 15 years in educational institutions for orphans and children with disabilities; women who have actively worked in charitable foundations and institutions, made significant contributions to the protection of motherhood and childhood, and have a total work experience of more than 20 years. It is worn on the left side of the chest.
State Prize of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Toktogul in the field of literature, art, and architecture. The prize is awarded once every two years to authors of outstanding works in the field of literature, art, and architecture.
State Prize of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of science and technology. Seven prizes are awarded once every two years for significant contributions to the development of science and scientific research, development and implementation of highly effective technologies, etc. (in honor of the anniversary) on the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic. One of the prizes is named after Kasym Tynystanov. It is awarded for outstanding works in the field of linguistics and literary studies. Another prize is awarded for outstanding works in the field of science and technology, textbooks published in the state language.
The following annual prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic are awarded:
the prize of the Kyrgyz Republic for quality;
the prize of the Kyrgyz Republic for farmers, peasant farms, and agricultural cooperatives;
the prize for journalists — "Golden Pen";
the prize of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for youth.
50 Presidential prizes are awarded to talented representatives of creative youth who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in republican and international competitions:
100 scholarships intended to assist creative workers, specialists, and figures in science, culture, and art;
100 scholarships for labor veterans — outstanding figures of culture, art, and science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Honorary titles of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Honorary titles of the Kyrgyz Republic are awarded to citizens for achievements in labor, high professional skill, and many years of conscientious work. The honorary title and Honorary Certificate are not awarded to the same person more than once. The badges of Honorary Titles are worn on the right side of the chest.

Honored Worker of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic; Honored Worker of Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic; Honored Worker of the Geological Service of the Kyrgyz Republic;

In addition to those listed, there are badges of ministries and departments. For example, "Excellence in Public Education of the Kyrgyz Republic", "Excellence in Vocational and Technical Education of the Kyrgyz Republic", "Excellence in the Kyrgyz Militia", "Excellence in KTR", "Leader of the Kyrgyz Customs", etc. Prizes of the international charitable foundation "Meerim": "Kutman Ene", "Datka Aiyim", "Daanishman", "Danaker", "Dilgir"; international prize "Rukhaniyat"; literary prizes of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan: named after A. Osmonov, named after T. Mold; prize for artists — named after M. Ryskulov, prizes of the Kyrgyz State National University — named after J.
