
Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, has signed a decree stripping Almazbek Atambayev of all state awards.
This decision is a result of the execution of the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, issued on June 3, 2025. The decree is based on parts 1, 2, and 4 of Article 27 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes," as well as Article 71 of the country's Constitution.
According to the decree, Almazbek Atambayev has been stripped of the following awards:
the highest distinction "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic"; the Order of "Manas" II degree; the Order of "Danaker"; the "Dank" medal.
Also revoked are previously issued decrees regarding awards, including:
Decree No. 106 from April 22, 1999, awarding the "Dank" medal; Decree No. 518 from November 27, 2007, awarding the Order of "Danaker"; the third paragraph of Decree No. 311 from November 30, 2011, regarding state awards; Decree No. 1 from November 27, 2017, conferring the title "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic."
The Judicial Enforcement Service under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic has been instructed to ensure the seizure of the awards and accompanying documents for their transfer to the state awards fund in the established manner.
The decree comes into effect upon its signing.
