In Mongolia, a new clinical skills room has opened at a center for children with disabilities funded by China.
The opening ceremony of the room took place on Tuesday at the Mongolian Rehabilitation and Development Center for Children with Disabilities.
At the event, the Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia, Mrs. Shen Minjuan, emphasized that since the center's opening in 2019, more than 50,000 children with disabilities have received assistance there, which confirms the strong ties between the two countries.
As part of the event, a donation was made under the theme "Let’s Spread Humanity Under the Blue Sky!" ("Under one blue sky, together we build love").
The ambassador noted that the opening of the room and the donation made are practical steps by China aimed at supporting the improvement of the lives of people in Mongolia in the spirit of "friendship, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness," which will also help enhance the level of rehabilitation and medical care in the country.
Gerel Dondovdorj, director of the Mongolian Agency for the Development of Persons with Disabilities, emphasized that Mongolia will continue to implement political reforms in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities, following the norms of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and introducing best international practices in cooperation with China.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Shen Minjuan signed a donation agreement with the Mongolian Rehabilitation and Development Center for Children with Disabilities, handed over necessary items, and officially opened the clinical skills room.
The clinical skills room will function for rehabilitation assessment, skill training, and demonstrations, significantly improving the service system of the center by providing children with disabilities more specific rehabilitation assistance in Mongolia.
