During a meeting with the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Zandan Shatar Gombojav, on Tuesday, Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang expressed China's intention to continue expanding trade with Mongolia and explore new areas of cooperation, including green energy and the digital economy.

Li characterized the countries as close neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, emphasizing that long-term, stable, and friendly relations align with the fundamental interests of the peoples of both nations.

He also noted that the recent meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhna in Beijing in September set the course for deepening bilateral relations.

Li emphasized that Mongolia holds an important position in China's neighborhood diplomacy, and China is ready to work together to create a China-Mongolia community with a shared future as the main principle for developing their relations.

The Premier noted that China is interested in strengthening strategic partnerships with Mongolia, respecting and considering the key interests and concerns of both sides, as well as expanding pragmatic cooperation.

Li highlighted the strong economic complementarity between the two countries and expressed readiness for joint development in traditional areas such as mineral and energy resources, infrastructure, and connectivity.

He also pointed out the importance of closer exchanges between Chinese regions and Mongolia to unlock cooperation potential and jointly promote international projects in the Altai subregion.

Li called on both sides to activate exchanges between political parties, academic circles, media, and youth to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen trust, adding that China is ready to jointly safeguard peace and stability in the region.

For his part, Zandan Shatar congratulated Li on the successful holding of the fourth plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China of the 20th convocation, where recommendations for the five-year plan for China's economic and social development for 2026–2030 were discussed.

He expressed confidence that China has always adhered to the principles of friendship, sincerity, and mutual benefit in its approach to neighboring states.

Zandan Shatar also noted that Mongolia highly values the friendly relations with China that have been developed over many years.

Moreover, he emphasized that maintaining close cooperation with China is one of the key directions of Mongolia's foreign policy.

Zandan Shatar also reaffirmed Mongolia's commitment to the one-China policy, stating that Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Tibet are integral parts of China.

He expressed gratitude to China for the support provided to Mongolia in its economic and social development over a long period.

Zandan Shatar also expressed readiness to work together with China to implement the reached consensus, enhance the coherence of development strategies, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, mining, and green energy.

He added that Mongolia aims to strengthen cooperation with China within multilateral frameworks, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to promote regional peace and development.
