Tokayev noted that the main goal of his upcoming visit to Moscow is to sign a Declaration that will elevate the relationship between Kazakhstan and Russia to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. He emphasized that this step will open a new chapter in bilateral relations and confirm the high level of trust and readiness for closer cooperation in all areas.
According to the president, Russia is among the top three foreign economic partners of Kazakhstan, while Kazakhstan ranks among the top five trading partners of Russia. The trade turnover between the countries demonstrates stable growth and is already approaching 30 billion dollars. Investment cooperation is also actively developing, with Russian investors holding leading positions in the economy of Kazakhstan, highlighting the country's high investment attractiveness and sustainable business ties between the states.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev added that the foundation of industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia consists of more than 170 joint projects, with investments exceeding 50 billion dollars.
Currently, over 20 thousand companies with Russian investments are operating in Kazakhstan.
Energy occupies a special place in bilateral cooperation. Kazakhstan and Russia actively ensure stable transit of Russian energy resources to China and Central Asian countries, as well as jointly implement projects for the construction and modernization of energy facilities.
Tokayev's state visit to Moscow is scheduled for November 11-12. During the visit, the parties intend to discuss important issues regarding the further development of strategic partnership and alliance in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields, as well as key topics on the regional and global agenda.
