In his speech at the meeting, President Japarov expressed gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and hospitality, and congratulated him on the successful holding of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Assembly in Samarkand. He supported the initiative to include the Republic of Azerbaijan in the format of the Consultative Meetings as a full participant, noting that this would open new horizons for cooperation in the region.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of unity and trust among states in a context where new opportunities are opening up for the region. He proposed that the Central Asian countries coordinate their positions and act as a united front on international platforms, including organizing consultations of foreign ministries before summits with other states.
In the context of the economy, the president noted that the main task is to qualitatively increase trade, economic, and investment cooperation. He reported that the volume of direct foreign investments from Central Asian countries to Kyrgyzstan increased by 15% last year, amounting to 135 million US dollars. Over the past three years, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with Central Asian countries has increased by 28%. From January to August of this year, the trade turnover reached 1.7 billion dollars, which is 14% more compared to the same period last year.
To deepen integration, Japarov outlined three key steps. First, it is necessary to actively eliminate trade barriers and harmonize standards. Second, joint production chains should be developed, and a processing industry should be formed. Third, it is important to utilize digitalization for growth, including e-commerce and the creation of cross-border platforms for information exchange.
Discussing transport infrastructure, the president noted the creation of a new transport artery in the region. He emphasized the strategic importance of constructing the "China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan" railway, which will significantly improve logistics and open the shortest routes to the largest markets in Asia and Europe. Japarov also proposed developing a unified electronic platform, the "Digital Transit Corridor," to simplify customs procedures and the processing of permits.
The president confirmed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to implement mutually beneficial projects, including the construction of hydroelectric power stations, and emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing the common resource potential of Central Asia. He also highlighted the role of tourism as an important sector of the economy and a means of strengthening ties between the peoples of the region, pointing out the increase in mutual visits.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized the sustainable development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation and announced the holding of the Sixth World Nomad Games next year, inviting colleagues and sports delegations from the region to participate in this event.
In conclusion, the president acknowledged Uzbekistan's effective chairmanship and wished success to Turkmenistan, confirming Kyrgyzstan's readiness to actively support the agreements reached.
