Opening the meeting, Putin expressed gratitude to Tokayev for his visit and emphasized the importance of protocol meetings, despite the regular working contacts between the two countries.
“We will have the opportunity to discuss important topics in a cozy atmosphere, and tomorrow we will be able to focus on the full range of bilateral relations and determine the directions of our further cooperation,” noted Putin.
Tokayev, for his part, thanked the Russian leader for the warm welcome and highlighted the strategic nature of bilateral relations.
“There is not a single area where we do not interact. There are no serious problems between our countries, and the issues that arise are resolved thanks to the efforts of the leaders,” he added.
The Kazakh president also expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to discuss various issues in an informal setting and share his impressions with Putin.
