In an interview with the Kabar agency, Ulukbek Maripov, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Egypt, described Sadyr Japarov's official visit as a significant and fruitful event.
It is important to note that this is the first time a Kyrgyz president has visited not only Egypt but also the African continent itself.
“Our president has become the one who opened the doors to Africa through Egypt. This visit can be considered historic,” emphasized the ambassador.
He added that during the meetings, the presidents of the countries agreed on the opening of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Egypt and the establishment of an intergovernmental commission that will work on developing trade, economic, investment, and scientific-technical relations.
“The Egyptian side enthusiastically accepted the initiative of the Kyrgyz leader, and the President of Egypt expressed a desire to visit Bishkek. The first intergovernmental meeting is expected to take place soon in the capital of Kyrgyzstan,” Maripov reported.
As a result of the negotiations, eight agreements were signed concerning education, the banking sector, agriculture, investments, and interreligious dialogue.
Within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Egyptian business forum, opportunities for cooperation in areas such as energy, agriculture, digitalization, information technology, and cryptocurrencies were also discussed.
“The historical ties between our peoples have always been strong. Our common history indicates that we have a shared future,” noted the ambassador.
In conclusion of his speech, Maripov emphasized that the visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Egypt has become an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations and creates new opportunities for interaction with African countries.
