From October 30 to November 1, the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, will visit South Korea to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit forum. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
It has been revealed that the invitation for the visit came from the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol. Xi Jinping will visit the city of Gyeongju, where the 32nd informal meeting of APEC leaders will take place, as well as conduct a state visit.
A representative of the ministry emphasized that this will be Xi Jinping's first visit to South Korea in the last 11 years. Furthermore, the meeting will be the first for the leaders of China and South Korea since Yoon Suk-yeol took office.
Gao Jianjun, the official representative, noted that China is focused on maintaining friendly relations with the South Korean side, based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual benefit. He also added that Beijing is interested in deepening the strategic partnership with Seoul.
