The Prosecutor's Office of the Sverdlovsk District of Bishkek presented the results of its work on protecting the rights of people with disabilities for the second quarter of 2025.

The supervisory authority noted that efforts to strengthen the rule of law and uphold the supremacy of law continue, which includes protecting citizens' rights in accordance with the Constitution and international standards.

According to the prosecutor's office, during an inspection initiated by the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration, it was found that the elevators at pedestrian crossings near the shopping centers "Alamüdün" and "Madina" were in a state of disrepair. Moreover, their transfer between municipal enterprises occurred without proper technical expertise and the necessary documentation.

The lack of technical documentation, such as passports and permits for operation, as well as data on the actual wear and tear of the equipment, indicates a superficial attitude of the responsible individuals towards the accessibility of urban infrastructure. This has led to significant restrictions on the rights of citizens, especially those with disabilities, regarding free and safe movement around the city.

Based on the conducted inspection, the prosecutor's office sent a representation to the Bishkek city hall. As a result, the identified violations were rectified, and the responsible officials were held accountable disciplinarily.

The agency emphasized that the protection of human rights and civil liberties remains a priority of their work, and similar inspections will be conducted regularly.
