The Council will have the opportunity to participate in the development of regulations concerning the rights of persons with disabilities.
On January 20, the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Rules of Procedure of the Jogorku Kenesh held a meeting during which the bill regulating the work of the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities under the Cabinet of Ministers was approved in the second reading.
Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastan Bekeshev was the initiator of this bill. The committee chairman Kurmankul Zulushiev emphasized that the document had previously been returned for revision.
The purpose of developing the bill is to strengthen the positions of the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities in the field of protecting citizens' rights. It is proposed to enshrine its activities in legislation and provide the opportunity to participate in the law-making process when creating drafts of legal acts concerning the rights of persons with disabilities.
During the discussion, committee members decided to change the title of the bill to "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On Normative Legal Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic'."
