At a recent parliamentary meeting, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Mahabat Mavlyanova proposed the implementation of smokeless stoves in Kyrgyzstan. She emphasized that about 70% of households in the country use coal for heating, which leads to the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
The deputy noted: “According to the National Sustainable Development Strategy, by 2040 Kyrgyzstan should become one of the most environmentally friendly countries. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to organize mass production of smokeless stoves and ensure their accessibility for the population. Although such stoves are already produced in the country, their quantity is limited. The experience of other countries, such as Mongolia and China, shows that such devices significantly reduce the level of smog,” she added.
