According to her, the weight of the entire set of textbooks is about 4 kilograms, and together with the backpack, it exceeds 5 kilograms.
She explained: "When the schedule includes four lessons — mathematics, 'Me and the World', Kyrgyz language, and reading, the child needs to carry textbooks, workbooks, several regular notebooks, general notebooks for vocabulary, a diary, and a pencil case." The reader emphasizes that such a load is excessive for seven-year-old children.
In this regard, she suggests revising the system of educational materials and introducing digital versions of textbooks. "It would be better if the books were converted to digital format, and children could use tablets instead of having to carry such heavy backpacks every day," she believes.
It should be noted that the problem of heavy backpacks is also felt in public transport. Passengers often express dissatisfaction with the large backpacks of schoolchildren, which take up the space of one person on buses due to their size and weight.
