In a podcast by the Kabar agency, Kyrgyzstan's ambassador to France, Sadık Sher-Niyaz, revealed that his expenses for obtaining a parliamentary seat amounted to 300 thousand dollars. According to him, a significant portion of these funds was allocated for advertising and organizing various events as part of the election campaign.
He also noted that deputies often mention the amounts spent on elections; however, these figures do not always reflect the full picture. "Unfortunately, such enormous expenses have become an integral part of the electoral process. I won't name specific individuals, but many well-known figures in the fields of culture, literature, and history, lacking sufficient financial resources, simply could not make it to parliament," he added.
