In Kyrgyzstan, the youth population exceeds 2.5 million people

In Kyrgyzstan, according to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev, the total number of youth is 2 million 519 thousand people. This information was announced at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with science, education, innovation, culture, sports, and youth policy.

Tagaev noted that youth make up 31.6% of the total population of the country. Of this number, 1 million 265 thousand are young men, and 1 million 253 thousand are young women, aged between 14 and 35 years.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that in 2023, a new law "On Youth" was adopted, which raises the age limit for youth from 28 to 35 years in accordance with international standards. In the same year, the Law "On Volunteering" was implemented.

Additionally, the Concept of State Youth Policy, aimed at 2020–2030, is being implemented in the country. In 2024, Kyrgyzstan signed UN Security Council Resolution No. 2250 "Youth, Peace, and Security" and developed a national plan for its implementation.
