In Kyrgyzstan, the number of cars has reached almost 2 million

According to data presented by the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Meder Mashiev, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, there are 1 million 909 thousand 61 registered vehicles in the country.
The minister noted that the growth of the vehicle fleet in Kyrgyzstan is 13%, which creates certain environmental problems. In the structure of the vehicle fleet, 972 thousand cars run on gasoline, 339 thousand on diesel fuel, 56 thousand on gas, and 37 thousand are hybrid vehicles.

According to Mashiev, by the end of 2025, 15 thousand 278 electric vehicles were imported into the republic, which accounts for only 0.8% of the total number. The share of cars aged no more than five years increased from 1.5% in 2024 to 4.5% this year.

In Bishkek, the total number of gas buses is 1 thousand 447, and the city also has 120 electric buses and 12 standard 12-meter buses. Additionally, the capital has installed more than 100 electric charging stations for electric vehicles, the minister emphasized.
