In the city of Karakol, L. Tolstoy Street has been renamed in honor of a former parliament deputy.

In Karakol, the street named after Leo Tolstoy has been renamed to Abdysh Moldakunov Street. This decision was made by the deputies at the XVI session of the city council.

Ermek Abdychev, the son of Abdysh Moldakunov, reported that his father was born in 1941 and became a father to four children. He began his career in 1963 after completing his studies at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, and then held various leadership positions in the transportation sector in the Issyk-Kul and Talas regions for many years.

For his achievements in transportation, Abdysh Moldakunov was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Worker of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic" and received numerous other awards, including the "For Labor Distinction" badge, which was presented to him by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

In addition, he was elected multiple times as a deputy of the parliament of the Kyrgyz SSR, representing the interests of the Issyk-Kul and Talas regions.

Abdysh Moldakunov was a pensioner and passed away in 2010.
