A Pre-Departure Orientation and Reintegration Center for Migrants to Open in Osh

A Center for Pre-Departure Orientation and Reintegration for Migrants will be opened in Osh, aimed at raising awareness among residents about safe and legal employment pathways. The center will also organize pre-departure training programs and informational sessions, as well as assist in the reintegration of those who have returned from abroad. These initiatives were announced by representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The initiative to establish the center was documented in a memorandum of cooperation signed between the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the KR and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Kyrgyzstan. The signing of the document took place after a working meeting between Deputy Minister Bakyt Darman kul uulu and the IOM Country Office Director Serhan Aktoprak.

During the meeting, important aspects of migration policy were discussed, including the protection of migrant rights and strengthening international cooperation.

The topic of Kyrgyzstan's participation in the International Migration Forum, which will be chaired by Annalena Baerbock, head of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, was also raised. At this forum, a national report on the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration is planned to be presented.

As a result of the meeting, Bermet Moldobaeva, head of the IOM Mission in Kyrgyzstan, was awarded the "Medal for Cooperation" from the ministry.
