The head of the Ak-Tyuz village council, Anvar Turdubekov, reported that this archival photograph was taken either in 1977 or in 1982.
“Although we were not witnesses of that time, representatives of the older generation claim that the hockey team from our village was considered one of the strongest in the republic. At the upper part of the village, there is a stadium that is used for football matches in the summer and turns into an ice rink in the winter. That is where the hockey competitions took place. The team from Ak-Tyuz actively participated in the republican championships. According to the elders, this photo dates back to 1982 or 1977, as significant hockey tournaments were held during those years,” noted A. Turdubekov.
