In connection with the road traffic accident in Chicago involving a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, B.B., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic provides the following information:
“A meeting was organized with the relatives of B.B. at the ministry. In addition, the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Chicago has established contact with the detained individual. During a phone conversation, a legal consultation was conducted, during which recommendations for further steps were provided.”
It is also reported that once the issue of B.B.'s place of detention is resolved, it is planned to send consulate staff for a personal meeting with him.
“The Ministry and the consular institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic are closely monitoring the situation, maintaining constant contact with the citizen's family, and providing the necessary legal assistance within their authority,” the department added.
